In a recent interview with the Atlantic, Barack Obama declared that Libya was his biggest mistake. An admission that is being peddled by the corporate media, as some sort of proof that Obama is the anti-Bush.
The arrogance and lack of genuine acknowledgment about the loss of life as result of his ‘mistake’ in Libya shows the perverse sense of entitlement that makes up the American political class. How lovely that President Obama has time to reflect on his legacy. It’s a luxury that is certainly not available to the people of Libya. It just boggles my mind that the president of United States, Nobel PEACE Prize recipient and all, was so incredibly short sighted, that he staged a regime change in a nation without having a contingency plan. It’s not like he didn’t have advisors warning him, because he did. He created the chaos in Libya simply because he felt that the people of Libya deserved American style democracy.
Now you have a nation which has spiraled into chaos and is grappling extremism. Not just Libya but the entire Middle East region has descended into chaos under the Obama doctrine. Expecting Obama to feel even an ounce of shame is akin to actually believing in the American myth effectively manufactured and distributed by the US propaganda brigade.
Woe be it, that President Obama, the first black man in the oval and all that change jazz to actually man up and represent a new American conscience. No, instead he blamed and whined about how the British Prime Minister David Cameron and former French leader Nicolas Sarkozy let him down— Lets have a moment of silence about the fact, that the Libyan disaster happened because poor Barry was led down by dodgy Dave and little Nicky—According to the American commander and chief Dave became distracted and little Nicky only wanted to promote his country during the 2011 NATO-led military intervention. The lack of introspection was a new low, even by American standards.
Moving on from this, when asked what his saddest moment in term was, like the American physco he is, he played the emotional card and said that it was the Sandy Hook shooting. Now let me be clear, Sandy Hook was an incredibly sad moment in a series of gun related crime in America but that moment was really his saddest moment??? —-Que American sad violin music—But seriously, that’s Barry’s saddest moment? Not the fact, that due to his government’s incompetence in Libya, and its decision to sponsor Libyan ‘moderate’ rebels the sociopathic group called ISIS came into existence? Since the fall of Gaddafi, who was killed in an Obama sponsored uprising, Libya has descended into near-anarchy, ruled by rival militias vying for power while the Islamic State group has gained influence in the country.
As Obama’s term wraps up its interesting to see the democratic propaganda machinery coming out with fluff pieces about how Obama had it tough and how he has changed American policy regarding the Middle East and the Muslim world. The reality, and a sad one at that, is that under Obama the Middle East exploded and millions of innocent men, woman and children died and continue to die. Instead of showing any genuine remorse over this human catastrophe, the outgoing American president has indirectly conveyed the same stance as his predecessor. No Muslim country is safe from American aggression or interference, and no American president Democrat or Republican will be the change that the world and America truly needs.
